Oh, the stories my great grandma used to tell. Many of them revolved around the 60 (seriously!) family photo albums teeming with family members who were constantly capturing every moment for retelling later. I realized how important it was to from a young age to have printed family photos and albums to celebrate family and life’s stories, big or small.
Art has also been everything to me. Replacing doodling on my mother’s Indonesian walls (thanks, mom) with degrees in New Media and Design, you’ll find me frequently photographing the most happening weddings all over the world under my main wedding brand Milou and Olin Photography.
But when I’m home, I’m with my families. . . clients who, for a brief time, invite me into their clan so I can share their story through art. I live in Sacramento with my own family, complete with his 2 kids, and our 4 dogs. The kids and dogs are frequently forced into modeling for me (thankfully, they all work for treats).
I capture a little bit of life in each photo, and telling stories through art is who I am.
And frankly, I don’t know quite where I’d be without the work I do.
What makes Caroline different
My portrait work is all about my mood: light, fresh and inspired by kids, childhood, and the creative nature of kids and play. My style is modern, clean, and documentary, mixed with story-telling in portrait form, all with my personal minimal hand editing and retouching to my aesthetic and high standards. What I create is a visual vignette or story of your life that becomes a cherished piece of art.
Upon booking, you’ll receive plenty of information to prepare you for your shoot. I’m always happy to answer any questions. I look forward to creating a fun, authentic, visual legacy of your family for future generations to come.
